What is Ball Output in a Padel Racket

Qué es Salida de Bola en una Pala de Pádel

Pedro Muñoz Martín |

The continued practice of Padel sharpens, more and more, the technical preferences for one or another type of blades . A player will opt for a teardrop-shaped or round racket, with a more or less soft rubber or a specific weight according to their playing style and position. To this selection criteria is added the output of the ball in Padel, a characteristic that we will address in the next post and that will undoubtedly influence the choice of your next racket.

What is the ball output in Padel?

The ball output is the ability of a racket in a static position to bounce the ball . That is to say, the speed with which the ball hits and is thrown from the racket without the player accompanying it with any movement.

A common situation in which this impact occurs is when a player goes to the net. With little reaction capacity, the player receives the blow with hardly any reaction time, which leads him to place his racket in a fixed position hoping that it will absorb the blow and come out with enough speed to face the attack.

This example shows how the output of the ball in Padel is a more important aspect for those more defensive players. After all, offensive plays need more powerful movements that put our opponent in trouble.

In this way, depending on the type of game you play on the court, you will opt for rackets with more or less ball output. The force and exit speed of the ball will depend on the materials of manufacture of the racket. Those made of fiberglass or FOAM rubber have a greater ball output but less control.

Having a racket with a great ball output also leads us to lose other types of properties in our racket, for example, the loss of strength in the auction.

On the other hand, the blades made of carbon fiber and EVA rubber lose ball output to gain power.

So, if the ball output is the ability of the ball to be thrown when the blade is stationary, what is the force with which the ball comes out after a hit called?

Difference between power and ball output

Well, ball output is often confused with power. This is because the two terms refer to the speed with which the ball is thrown. Unlike leadout, however, power also involves movement on the part of the player.

Therefore, we refer to power with the speed that the ball reaches thanks to the movement and force projected by the player.

Hard rubber blades achieve greater power since they do not absorb all the force of the impact, an effect that does occur in soft rubbers.

Rackets with a lot of ball output

As we have seen, the output of the ball in Padel is the result of the materials used in the manufacture of the blade. Next, we leave you some of the rackets with good ball output.
